This may have come up before, and perhaps there is a different way to do this but we would like to see a Technician or Staff box on the medical history box and on the medical condition record as well as the doctor. Our techs do a lot of vaccines or minor treatments and we often don't know which technician saw the animal.

Jess,

There is not a box for this currently, but a lot of clinics use the ctrl+d shortcut when entering notes and medical condition records. It will put the user's initials, the date, and the time in the note fields.

Thanks Jeremy,

We do use the CTRL+D a lot, especially when entering whole medical condition records. But the techs often only do the vitals and leave the rest of the records to the doctors. The doctors will often put their initials but the techs often get left out. Then it's a "who else knows about this case?" game.

Jess,

I understand. One option would be to set up More Stuff for the Medical Condition Record in Work With, System Tables, Additional Data Fields, Subjective More Stuff Fields, right-click More Stuff, name it Technician (or whatever you like,) set it to User for the Type, and default it to Current User. Then they would have to click, Med Condition, More Stuff, Subjective, verify the user, and click OK.

Another option would be for them to put the ctrl+D in the subjective notes area.

I understand how neither of these would be as perfect as having an Entered by or Tech field, but just trying to offer a couple alternatives while I add this to the list of SOAP requests :).

In the same vein as this one, we use the ctrl + D option to time stamp RVT vitals and histories taken, but to an outsider, they don't know who the vet is and who is a tech. I would love AviMark to automatically know that the initals MS are those of a tech and have the ctrl + D option add the phrase "(Vet Tech notation)" to the time stamp.

P.S. Using the ctrl + D method as a time stamp in the Subjective area is a good idea to also track how long a patient was waiting before being seen. Came in VERY handy the one time a client complained that she waited over 30 minutes.
