Our clinic does reminders every 14 days, the cycle would be 14 days before the reminder is due, 14 days after it is due, then an additional 14 days overdue. However, our staff all agreed it would be more beneficial if the client would receive 2 reminders BEFORE the item is due, and one remidner once the item is overdue. However you cannot do this with Avimark (tech support said it would have to be adjusted every time we printed reminder cards and would end up missing quite a few reminder)...it would be a nice feature for the next version if we were able to reminder clients more BEFORE the item is due. After all-wouldn't we all want more reminders before we were due for something? Not after. Just a suggestion |

I am in the middle of trying to swich our reminders over to weekly.
Printed first reminders 3 weeks before due.
Printed second and e-mail 2 weeks after due date(though I guess you could switch this to the week prior to due dat)
And a phonecall 3-4 weeks later.
I don't see why you can't remind them before the service is due.
Can't you just pick your date to print the reminders?
For example, in my case, I will go to work with> Reminders> and pick my date for 3 weeks out, and print for 7 days.
In another 2 weeks, I can click second reminders and pick the same day (again, print for seven days).
The date in the reminder window will always default to the date after the previous reminders were printed, but it's an easy fix. |

If you print your reminders in advance as Terina suggested, you could get in two batches of reminders as "first" reminders. Part of the appeal to our reminders is that you can set the start date to last year and send a final notice to the patients who are still due for a vaccine last year, or you could send out next month's reminders now. It is all based on the start date and for days that you enter. |

When I called tech support about changing the dates, she said that I would have to manually change the dates every time I was to start printing reminders, and that reminders would be missed in between, and that it was a risk to our reminder system basically. It seems like it would just become very complicated compared to the reminding system now and not as straight forward. I still have the conversation saved from the tech support chat convo stating why it wouldn't be beneficial |

Becky,
As I understood your post, you would be shifting your reminders 2 weeks in the future. When you decide to do this, you would need to manually do 2 weeks worth of reminders that would be missed prior to doing the first reminders 28 days early, second reminders 14 days early, and third reminders as 14 days after it was due. At this point, the reminder cycle would just be shifted forward one 14 day period and could continue on as normal.
If you want to still do your normal reminder cycle with the 14 additional days overdue, then we would need a fourth reminder to accommodate the reminder period you would like to cover or a lot of manual changing of reminder due dates which could lead to missed reminders as the technician warned.
Sorry for the confusion and possible misunderstanding of the original post. |
