As always, it is important to make sure your computers meet the hardware recommendations and that you can download at a time when all users can be out of AVImark. To download the update, close all users out of AVImark except the server, click Utilities, Update AVImark, click Yes, click Next, choose Download the Latest Official Release, click Next, click Download, click OK on the Download Complete prompt, log into AVImark, click Yes to Update, and follow the update prompts. If you do not have internet at the clinic, we will be glad to help you get the update off of our FTP site and onto a flash drive or other removable media from a location with internet. The file is approximately 65 megabytes, so it should take less than fifteen minutes to download on a DSL internet connection. After downloading the update, we just need to set the Advanced Option for Harmonized Sales Tax to the appropriate value, and AVImark will zero out the GST and PST tax fields and apply HST to all services and items that have any tax action code (L,S,T) automatically. For those using AVP, there are still some small issues being worked out and an update should be available in the very near future.
