We've purchased a brand new SERVER installed with Windows Server 2008 Standard.
We've been sent our copy of AVImark 10.4 update.

My question is do I have to use the original disk to first install AVImark, or should
I be able to just run the 10.4 update cd??

It gave me a wrong O/S error, which I got passed with the ALT/CTRL/SHIFT bypass, but
it now tells me that I have to install AVImark at the specified location before the
update can be applied....I assume I need the original disk.

The best option is to move your existing AVImark data to the new server and update it. To make sure you get all files, please review this pdf http://www.avimark.net/images/stories/documents/Recently%20updated/Instructions%20for%20Moving%20AVImark%20to%20a%20new%20Server.pdf and give technical support a call at 1-877-838-9273.
