Those of you who are walk in only clinics. How are you letting the doctors
know who is here to be seen while client waits. And who is staying for
treatment. We have only been using AVIMark for about 6 months. I have been
printing white boards and census. We are trying to go paperless. But it
seems that every time something is left I am updating and printing a new white
board. For clients that are waiting with their pets. We simply have a sheet
hanging on the wall that we write the client number and pet name on and scratch
out as we go.
thanks

Steph,
Do you guys use the appointment scheduler at all?
What about adding the patient into the schedule as they walk in? You could have columns for each doctor. The patient will then be placed into the whiteboard, and you would also have the option of keeping track of who saw what patient, at a glance.
Hope this helps!
Also, just as a side note, you can customize the whiteboard to tell you how long they have been waiting, admitting dr, etc. |

Steph,
I was in a clinic this morning that has a high percentage of walk ins, and after adjusting some columns, the Whiteboard is working pretty well for them. Their general work flow is to create an appointment with notes when the client walked in, check the patient in to the whiteboard, so it would show they were waiting, the doctor look at the waiting column to determine who was next, and when the
doctor came to get the patient, the reception would uncheck Patient is Waiting on the Checked-in tab. We also brought out the Status and Breed columns to help alleviate confusion over which animal was which and sorted by Status first (out-patient on the bottom) and Waiting second (waiting the longest on top of the out-patients, and second sort is accomplished with a Shift-left click.) The
last change to the checked-in tab was to display the preview text for Check-in Notes which carries over any notes from the appointment and can be customized now to display 1, 2, 3, or All lines of the notes.
The practice I was visiting has three doctors (two full-time.) |
