Subject :Access Violation Error When attempting to print a document from avimark
Our hospital has a network of 8-12 computers and a server all running windows xp,
and windows server 2003 in the server's case. I recently added another machine to our
network and whenever I attempt to print a report or any other word document from avimark
avimark and word both freeze and cpu usage spikes. The only error I have recieved so
far is an access violation error, Avimark does not always give me this error sometimes
it just freezes. The problem only occurs on the new computer; I can perform
the same action, for example printing the same word document for the same patient, from
a different machine in the hospital so I believe the problem is local. As far as I can
tell there is no firewall active on the machine and it has access to all server
resources. Any help resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated. |

First of all, is the new computer on a wireless connection? I get Access Violation all the time when using AVImark from my laptop, which connects wirelessly.
If that doesn't work, try opening Word and printing a document (on the AVImark server) without using AVImark, just to test. If that works leave Word open and then try again.
Is the version of Word on the new computer the same as the other computers? Have you applied the service packs? It is installed locally, right?
How are your printers set up? Do you print to an IP address? |

The computer is part of a LAN, using an Ethernet cable. Printing doesn't seem to be an issue.
I can access all of our network printers. We use the same version of word throughout the hospital.
All in all the machine seems to be identical to all the other machines on the network.
The network is currently configured such that when a new machine is added to the domain it receives its user settings from the server. Users login to the network rather then the local machine. I have
also tried the same action as an administrator and had the same problem so it isn't a user permissions issue. |

Hi,
Sometimes MS Word not being registered or Auto-printers being installed can cause the issue you are experiencing. If you can, it would be best to give support a call at 1-877-838-9273 option 1 to determine the cause. |

I'd be really interested to hear if you fix it.
Maybe experiment with Open Office? |
