Our computer only has 1 9-pin port on it, so we have a cable with a 9-pin and a USB port on it. However, there are no drivers to make it connect properly. Any ideas on where to get the proper driver for this so we can hook it up? Thanks! |

Hi,
To get the machine physically connected to the computer, it is best to call IDEXX's support at 1-800-248-2483. I double-checked, and we do not have the driver information since IDEXX handles the physical connections. Once the machine is connected, you could call our Lab Technical Support at 1-877-838-9273 option 1, then option 3 to get the results into AVImark. |

We did call IDEXX to get things connected, but their cord does not have the necessary drivers to connect to Avimark. When I called Avimark, they suggested getting on here because other people have connected this way. We don't know where to go to get the necessary drivers. Can we download something from online or get a cd from somewhere? |

I verified the information with our head lab technician, and he said you would need to get a serial to USB adapter, and the adapter has to show in the Device Manager in Windows to be able to make the connection work. We do not have any specific brand recommendation on the serial to USB adapters, but if you cross-post this to our Yahoo Group, http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/avimark/selprof?force=1&done=/group/avimark/join to get more feedback. |

We have that cord and it is hooked up. How do I check the Device Manager in Windows? |

You can right-click on the My Computer or Computer icon, click Manage, click on Device manager, and click on the + by Ports (COM and LPT1) to see if it shows under the ports. |

It does show up, but with an exclamation point next to it. I tried to install the drivers through there, but it could not find the necessary drivers for it. Thank you for your help! We've tried, but don't know what else to do. Thanks!! |

Sometimes a different cable will yield different results. Can you get the cable (the one you have or one similar) from IDEXX directly? |

The cable we have is from IDEXX. I think we are just going to get a different port installed on our computer to make it work easier. Thank you! |
