Saw the other post about installs not working on server 2008 and the same
problem exists if installing on Server 2008R2.
Is there a fix in place for this yet?

Hi,

As long as you are on at least version 179.3, you should not have issues running AVImark on Server 2008 R2. What version are you trying to install or update to?

Going to call support on this.
It's acutally and upgrade CD for 2010.4 so I need the original files on the server to begin with.
Trying to do a net new install.

We run AVImark on Server 2008 (Not R2 now but planning to upgrade). Haven't had any issues caused by the Operating System. Since I assume you are doing this as a domain controller as well, are you planning on putting in a 2nd server / domain controller?
