Hello,
I provide IT support for a local clinic and they are having slow access issues with
Avimark on the other workstations besides the server. It seems to take anywhere
between 15-30 seconds to open access. I have been reading over the posts and see
everyone talks about the benefits of the server/client mode. How do I determine
my client is working in that configuration. Is there something in Avimark that will
show that? If they aren't is it easy to switch to that mode? or does it require a
reinstall?
Thank you in advance for your assistance,
Mike |

Mike,
If you go to Help, About AVImark, it should say either AVImark for Windows (regular mode) or AVImark for Windows Client/Server Edition.
You can click http://www.avimark.net/images/stories/documents/Recently%20updated%20L-Z/Setting%20up%20AVImark%20Client%20Server.pdf (opens a PDF) for instructions on setting up client/server, or you can give our support a call for assistance at 1-877-838-9273 option 1. It does not require a reinstallation of the program, and should generally be able to be set up in less than 20 minutes. |

Mike,
It is usually performed on the server, but you can do it on the clients. It does just have to be done one time while will write to the configuration files and work on all other computers after that. |

I see...they are not set to client/server edition. I'm going on site Wednesday and will perform the steps in the guide to change that and hopefully that will fix the slow connection issue.
Thank you |

Change successful, it has seems to speed the login screen prompt by a few seconds but still takes 10-15 sec. to show up. Would moving to a gigabit network help that? |
