ENHANCEMENT DEVELOPMENT

How Enhancements Come About - Enhancements to the AVImark program are a direct result of our users' requests. Each enhancement suggestion is taken seriously by our Product Development Department. After submission, all enhancements are then recorded, considered and then voted upon. Our most voted on enhancements then get implemented into the AVImark program for the next release. Other suggestions are implemented by priority. For more information on the general process of how enhancements come about, please review the provided information on how suggestions are received, recorded, considered and implemented. If you would like to submit an enhancement suggestion, simply fill out the Enhancement Suggestion Form or contact us at suggest@avimark.net.

Suggestions are Received
The majority of the suggestions we receive are either faxed or e-mailed. If a suggestion is called in, we usually request that the clinic e-mail or fax a hard copy so we can keep it on file.

If you have a suggestion that you would like to send in, you can e-mail it to suggest@avimark.net or fax to number 573 223-4306.

Recording Suggestions
Each enhancement that we receive is reviewed and entered, by our Product Development team, into an Excel spreadsheet. By listing all suggestions in this spreadsheet, we are able to keep track of which suggestions have been recommended multiple times and by whom they were suggested.

When an enhancement is received, before it is ever entered in the spreadsheet, we first check to see if a suggestion very similar or identical to it has already been submitted. If so, we keep record of how many clinics have submitted a like suggestion.

Considered Suggestions
Suggestions are given a number of priority once they are entered into our database. These priority numbers are determined by our Product Development team and are based on several points.

State Law - If the suggestion received is related to a new state or federal law, it is considered and given a higher priority than the rest.

Repetition - As mentioned above, we are able to track the number of times a suggestion has been submitted. The more clinics that make a similar suggestion, the more we are able to see just how useful this feature would be to our clients.

Significance - Lastly, a suggestion that has not been suggested by a Beta Tester, is not related to a state or federal law, and has not been repeated by several clinics can still get a higher priority. If a suggestion is received that we deem to be something that would greatly improve the software, we will give it a high priority number.

An example of this would be an actual suggestion sent by a clinic in Texas. The suggestion pertains to the quality of a service or item always printing on invoices. It was brought to our attention after this clinic discussed it with a Sales and Distribution consultant. They made a very good point about the Invoice being a contractual agreement and that if the quantity was not printed on there, it could be questioned in a court.

An option for always printing the quantity on an Invoice has been added to the software and will be released this spring.

Implemented
Once a suggestion becomes a new feature in the software, it must receive a large amount of testing. We are able to do testing in our office, but nothing like the testing a clinic can give by using it in their daily routine. This is where our Beta Testers are important. They are the ones that actually give the new features the stress testing that they require. We have our Beta Testers do at least 3 months of stress testing on features before they are released.
