Windows® XP Pro, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate and Windows 7 are limited to 10 user connections. For any supported version of Windows, we strongly recommend installing the most current service pack available from Microsoft.
Windows XP Professional 64 Bit edition is NOT supported by AVImark.
Windows XP Media Center Edition is NOT supported by AVImark.
3.5" Floppy Disk Drives are NOT required by AVImark support but may be a good idea for PC Troubleshooting. If Cash Drawers or Lab Machines are necessary for your operation, at least one serial port is required (per peripheral) AVImark is a 32-bit application and will function properly on a supported 64-bit Windows operating system.
IMPORTANT: The 64-bit versions of Windows require 64-bit device drivers. Please verify the availability of 64-bit device drivers with the manufacturer of your
computer devices (i.e. lab machines, point-of-sale devices, printers, etc.)

Site feature using Terminal Services will require the use of TCP/IP network ready printers or TCP/IP Print Server devices. AVImark Support does not provide technical support for Microsoft Products. Setup and troubleshooting of Terminal Services is the sole responsibility of the installing technician or the clinic that chooses to use Terminal Services. The total number of workstations (at all sites) connecting to the terminal server will determine the total amount of installed RAM.
Please consult with a reputable Certified Terminal Server technician in your area. When using any Windows Server version, please ensure the DNS Service is setup correctly. Failure to do so will result in SEVERE performance loss on your network.

Windows® XP Tablet Edition is only recommended when using Tablet PC's. DO NOT use Windows® XP Tablet Edition on a standard desktop workstation.

In terms of reliable network connectivity and speed, wireless networks are greatly lacking when compared to wired networks. This unreliability will have a negative impact on the performance and proper functioning of AVImark . The hospital environment, i.e., wall construction (such as concrete, brick or steel), X-ray machine, mirrors, security systems, fluorescent lighting or cordless phones will affect the way wireless functions. (Any disruption in network connectivity will produce errors and lock ups in AVImark). Before making the decision to purchase wireless network capable hardware, please consult an IT professional, in your local area, with experience in wireless networking. Use the contact information below if you have any additional questions.

AVImark will function when using hardware meeting our minimum requirements; however, the performance of AVImark may not meet with your expectations. ***The 64-bit versions of Windows 7 require 2GB of system memory to function properly. All versions of Windows Vista (32-bit/64-bit) require 1 GB of system memory***

AVImark Support recommends Business class computers and Printers. MSS IT Solutions offers these types of machines, Call 877‐838‐9273 extension 285 . Discount store, home quality and (nonprofessional) custom built machines are not recommended. Before making the decision to buy a custom built machine from a non commercial company, please ensure they are properly certified and that they use only the highest quality business class components. Using home based components is highly discouraged. Purchasing business class machines will increase reliability, performance and productivity within your office. MSS cannot reasonably guarantee compatibility with every printer brand and model. Please consult with our technical support staff for information regarding printers with known compatibility issues. The printers listed in our recommended column are provided as a guideline based on reliability, print volume, and speed. To purchase printers on our recommended list, call 877-838-9273 ext. 285.

We do not recommend using "multifunction" printers (i.e. all-in-one copier/fax/printers) with AVImark because multifunction printers are typically slow and may not work properly. If you require the use of a multifunction printer, please avoid using it in a high volume-printing environment.

AVImark only supports versions of Microsoft Office liscensed for commercial use.
Microsoft Office Starter 2010, a new base productivity suite that replaces Microsoft Works, consists of limited‐functionality versions of Word and Excel and includes advertising. It does not include PowerPoint or Outlook. AVImark does NOT recommend or support this software.
StarOffice-OpenOffice offers very limited functionality when being combined with AVImark.

AVImark hardware requirements for digital cameras and scanners previously stated that Twain 32-bit compliancy was necessary. With the enhanced Image Editor Twain compliancy is not a mandatory requirement, but is still an option. Most digital cameras today use a WIA driver to allow interaction with the camera from a third-party software. The new Image Editor will now funchtion with both Twain and Wia drivers, but WIA allows for more detailed interaction with digital cameras from AVImark.
