I thought it would be beneficial to have a place where we could post any issues we find with the new update (2010.0)

I literally just updated last night, so it's still very new.

I noticed today when trying to reschedule appointments, appointment notes transfer to the new slot, but any chosen treatments get lost.

We have the same problem with version 2010.0.010817. Rescheduling causes data to be lost. Does anyone have an idea as to when this serious bug will be fixed?

It is a great idea to have a location where bugs could be reported.

We fixed this issue today and we're testing this issue before releasing it. A new download of 2010.0 should be available soon to fix this problem.

That's good news. We would like to notified immediately once the download is available.

The problem is actually worse than first appeared; not only are POs incorrect but the PO process resets inventory prices at a much lower level; this means selling products below cost of purchase, unless manually corrected. Are clinics using this download losing money without knowing it? I would strongly advise anyone NOT to download this version until the fix is in place.

Does this incident suggest that beta-testing procedures at Avimark need to be strengthened? Yes, most definitely.

These issues are being tested by our Quality Control Departments. We will let you know as soon as the fixes are available.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

Another issue that 2010.0 has relates to keyboard use. Since, we are in Canada, workstations are defaulted to English-Canada keyboard settings. With this version of Avimark, this seems to result in keyboard changes so that trying to enter in an Avimark search box '/' returns an accented 'E'. Might be best to set keyboards to US English.

I just figured out how to import results from the Idexx Vettest, Lasercyte, etc.
(We are planning on eventually signing up for the bi-directional integrations)

My understanding was that the normals would import directly from the lab instrument; there would be no more defining fields or adjusting reference ranges.

But I am noticing on my results, the normals are way off. Do I have to go back and redfine normals for each species, breed, etc? Please, please, please tell me no. o.O

I did a little checking, and it looks like "/" on a regular US-English keyboard is the accented ā€œEā€ on Canadian-French keyboard layouts.

The normals do come over directly from the lab instrument, but some of the normal ranges stored on the machines are not 100% correct. It is something being looked into, and I will post again when I get more details.

The normals in Avimark do not match the reference ranges that prints out directly from the VetTest.

For instance, ALT reference ranges for a pre-anesthetic profile we ran earlier read 0-2000 in Avimark. On the sheet that prints out results with reference ranges from the VetTest instrument, the reference range reads 10-100.

Inventory problems in 2010.0.0.10817 - these are serious! The PO process - just clicking to open an inventory item from within a PO window causes the price to drop. It appears to drop by half each time - to 1/2 the original price, then to 1/4, then to 1/8 - and then we got smart and quit trying!

Two other "major known inventory issues", we were told. Order qty not brought into the PO receiving screen, etc. When are the fixes due? We have stopped all inventory activity until this is fixed - no ordering, and especially no receiving.

Terina,

Sorry for misunderstanding on the normals. I spoke with our Lab Department, and we do have an issue with the normals if you are using the serial connection. This is being worked on to be corrected as soon as possible. The normals should be coming over correctly with our new bi-directional integration, but to get that set up, you will need to call our Lab Department at 1-877-838-9273 option 1, option 3.

I also want to point out the inconsistency with the way the results are reported.

For instance, a BUN we ran today reads 130. The results are actually greater than 130, but since the field is defined as a "value", it will only read as a whole number. You have to click on notes or preview text to see it is actually greater than 30. It's misleading.
The PHOS on the other hand, was greater than 16.1 (and it read as such), since I presume the field was defined differently.

We are signing up for bi-directional integration within the next few weeks. I will let you know how it's working for us.

Can we get some clarity re the test results and normals? This is the first I have heard about nromals being incorrect unless you have signed up for bi-directional integration. Does Avimark realize the implications of this to veterinary practices?

Last week it was announced that fixes were coming for the scheduling and PO issues. Have these fixes been released yet?

The test values should be correct when using the traditional serial connection or the new bi-directional integration. Currently, the Normals work correctly using the new bi-directional integration, but some of the Normals are coming over incorrectly using the traditional serial connection. This is something being worked on and is a very high priority to be fixed.

The release with the fixes for the 2010 issues is being tested with a little more work to be done. It will not be released today, but we hope to have it released very soon.

I just wanted to let everyone know that we signed up for bi-directional integration yesterday.
While we have only run about 10 tests since getting everything set up, I can't even begin to describe how excited I am about this!
The normals have been correct, the results have been automatically imported; and we enter the tests into Avimark to first, so there are no charges missed.
The only issue(and it's minor)I have is when the lab computer times out and logs off, we get error messages on all other workstations and have to close Avimark via the Task Manager.

A new release is available that contains purchase order and other fixes. The version number changed to 2010.1 due to some of the changes that had to be made during the correction process. The purchase orders were changed to function like they did on version 2009.1 to provide the best fix for everyone. We will be looking to further enhance this area in the future, but right now, stability and corrections had to take precedence.

Some users from our Yahoo Group are working directly with our Quality Control Department to ensure that Antech fixes, when available, will be great.

To download the update, first make sure all users are out of AVImark and make a backup. If you are using AVImark regularly, click Utilities, Update AVImark, click Next, choose Download Latest Official Release, click Next, and click Download. If you are using Client/Server, open the AVImarkGuardian, click on Open AVImark Server, click Run, in the AVImark Server window, click Utilities, Update AVImark, click Next, choose Download Official Release, click Next, and click Download.

Great news on the bi-directional Terina!

I have tried several times today (Sunday) to download the update using the procedure described above. I received a message saying that the avimark.zip file was not found at the ftp site.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Our IT department is working on the server to correct the errors. It should be fixed in the near future, and once I get word that all is well, I will post an update here.

Hi,

Since updating to 2010.0 I am having issues attaching lab results from VetConnect to
Avimark. We are a fully paperless practice so this is our only way of attaching results
to the patients charts. I would say we are having roughly 2 out of 8 patients results
not import. I do not receive any error messages or given any indication that it did not
import over.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem between Idexx and Avimark since the update?

Thanks in advance.
