Handling Waiting Lists In those instances where your boarding facility is completely booked, consider creating a waiting list to contact clients when a cancellation has been made. This can be accomplished by creating a work list in system tables. Once created, patients can easily be entered on the list and notes attached pertaining to the reservation.
Charging Automatically Save time by automating your boarding calendar. Simply enter the facility groups and specify the appropriate species, weight ranges, and boarding charges. Also, decide how you would like to charge for boarded patients: like a hotel, by day, or by night. Specifying this information, AVImark will choose the appropriate facility for the patient when creating the reservation. When checking the patient out of the hospital, charges will be automatically incurred.
Printing Boarding Release Documents When checking in patients for boarding reservations, AVImark can automatically print boarding release forms upon arrival. This is done by creating the release form in MSĀ® Word and linking it as a check-in document. If you are curretnly utilizing the check-in document option for surgery releases, examination forms, euthanasia forms, etc. simply attach the boarding document as well.
This is done by highlighting on the Check-in document entry, in Advanced Options. Within the change value window, tyep the name of the documents you wish to choose from, separated by commas. When doign this, AVImark wil display a document window allowing you to choose from multiple check-in documents. After selecting the document and clicking Done the approprite document will print.
Finding Open Cages in a Crowded Calendar The winter months are an extremely busy time for any clinic, especially for your boarding facilities. A quick way to see any available vacancies is using the Choose Facility Feature of the Boarding Calendar. From with the Boarding Calendar, go to View, Choose Facility. This will open the New Reservation window displaying your different facility vacancies. Vacancies will be listed in bold black, with the number available in the vacancy column. Keep in mind the vacancy is dependent on the patient and time period for which you are making the reservation.
Boarding Multiple Patients by Same Owner For those clients having multiple pets boarded within the same cage, you have the ability to give boarding discounts. Create a treatment for Multi Pet boarding with the discounted price and enter this code in the other field within the Facility Group window. Weh nchecking a petient into boarding, choose the Other option. After the patients are checked out of Boarding, the system will charge each the reduced price automatically.
