| Using the Audit Trail to Help Find Deleted Account Numbers |
|
From time to time, important client accounts may be accidentally deleted. In order to retrieve these accounts, the account number that was assigned to that client is needed. One way to find this number is by setting up the Audit Trail report. If a client ever gets deleted the Audit Trail report can be ran to find the missing account number. Note: The audit trail is not retroactive and will only work from the moment it is set up. Set up the Audit Trail 1. First you will need to go to Work with (Menu) System tables...Audit trail table. 2. Double left click on the AUD06 ‘Remove Clients' function. Set this to Audit everyone that logs into your system. 3. Then set any of the other functions in this window you want to audit by double-clicking on each of the functions and setting it to ‘Everyone' or ‘All But Admin'. 4. Next go to Work with (Menu) Hospital Setup...Miscellaneous tab. 5. Set the ‘Start and Stop' auditing times. Ex: 12:00a to 11:59 p to audit for an entire day. You can also check ‘Audit on weekends.' Run your Audit Trail to find Deleted Account Numbers Please keep in mind, you need Users and Security setup with everyone logging in with passwords for the Audit Trail report to list the user who performed the function. NOTE: If you choose to audit other functions, a good idea would be to secure the printing of the audit trail report. This will ensure that not everyone will have access to sensitive information.
